This dress was inspired by a 60s dress my grandmother, Jany Clair, wore in a peplum film ‘Hercules against the Moonmen’. My grandmother played the villain, La Reine De Samare (Queen Samara). This maxi dress, gathered, sophisticated and ruffled, represents an ambivalence, a treacherous elegance, but powerful. In the movie, La Reine de Samare betrays her own to ally herself with the moon men in order to become the most powerful woman in the world. This dress is made from a unique blend of silk and wool. It's soft, warm and offers a refined drape to the dress, a perfect harmony between fluidity and structure: silk shines, wool insulates, two natural fibres that when combined give you a limey, breathable fabric. To preserve the integrity of the fabric, we recommend dry cleaning only.
If hand washing is preferred, use cold water with a detergent suitable for delicate fibers, no wringing, soaking, or rubbing. Always dry flat in the shade to preserve the garment’s shape and prevent color fading. Avoid bleach and tumble drying.
If ironing is needed, use a cool setting with a pressing cloth and light steam. Do not spot clean directly, as this may cause staining or texture changes.
