The Designs
Every VKELLER piece is named after the story, character, or person who inspired its creation. A dress is not just fabric and thread, it carries a narrative. Some of the most beautiful garments in history have been lost to time: worn once, photographed once, then forgotten. We give them a second life.
When you wear a VKELLER piece, you become part of that story. The dress lives again through you and you carry its legacy forward.
Each design is inspired by a specific reference: a dress worn by my ancestors, by your ancestors, a dress seen in a film, a garment from the archives, a silhouette that once existed and deserves to be brought back to life, much like an archaeologist.
We wanted to make garments you almost forget you're wearing, pieces that move with you, not against you. Flowing fabrics, natural drape, no rigidity. The kind of dress that feels like a second skin in silk.
Bohemian is not a style to us. It is a principle: the garment serves the body, never the other way around.
Sizing & Fit
We use French sizing (FR 36–42). To find your perfect fit:
- Take your bust, waist, and hip measurements using a soft tape measure
- Compare them to our detailed Size Guide, which includes conversion charts for US, UK, EU, and international standards
- If you fall between sizes, we recommend sizing up for a more comfortable fit
All VKELLER garments are labelled in French (FR) sizing. Our Size Guide includes full conversion tables for:
- US sizes (0–10)
- UK sizes (4–14)
- EU / Italian sizes
- Japanese and Korean sizes
Each product page also displays a size chart specific to that garment type.
If your measurements fall between two sizes, we generally recommend sizing up. Our garments are designed with a refined, flattering fit, especially our dresses and tops. A slightly larger size will still drape beautifully and give you more comfort.
For personalised advice, contact us with your measurements and we will recommend the best size.
Yes. Our pieces are designed to correspond closely to standard French sizing. That said, each silhouette has a different fit profile:
- Samara Maxi Dress: Fitted bodice, flowing skirt
- Vikki Dress: Draped, relaxed silhouette
- Ruth Top: Fitted, close to body
- Samara Top: Fitted, relaxed, slightly oversized
Consult individual product pages for garment-specific measurements.
Every product page includes a size chart with exact measurements (bust, waist, hips, length) for that specific garment. You can also visit our comprehensive Size Guide for body measurement charts, how-to-measure tutorials, and international conversion tables.

Fabric & Care
VKELLER garments are crafted primarily from pure silk, one of the finest natural fibres in the world. Silk is prized for its extraordinary softness, natural temperature regulation, and luminous drape. Some pieces also incorporate silk blends or wool-silk for structure and warmth.
Discover more about our fabrics in the Care Guide.
Silk is a delicate natural fibre that rewards gentle care:
- Washing: Hand wash in cool water (max 30°C) with a pH-neutral silk detergent, or dry clean
- Drying: Never wring, roll gently in a towel and lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight
- Ironing: Iron on low heat (silk setting) on the reverse side while slightly damp
For the complete care guide with step-by-step instructions, visit our Silk Care Guide.
We strongly recommend hand washing or professional dry cleaning. Machine washing, even on a delicate cycle, can cause friction, snagging, and fibre damage. Silk is a protein fibre that is vulnerable to agitation, heat, and alkaline detergents. If you must use a machine, place the garment in a mesh laundry bag on the coldest, gentlest cycle available but we cannot guarantee results.
With proper care, your VKELLER garment will maintain its colour beautifully for years. To preserve colour vibrancy:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Wash with a colour-safe, pH-neutral detergent
- Never use bleach or harsh chemicals
- Store away from light when not being worn
Our dyes are selected for their fastness and durability, ensuring your piece ages gracefully.
Silk is one of the most sustainable luxury fibres available. It is a natural, biodegradable protein fibre produced by silkworms. It requires significantly less water than cotton. At VKELLER, we produce in highly limited quantities. We also offer a made-to-order service, so nothing is produced unless it is truly wanted. We believe in creating fewer, better pieces that last a lifetime rather than following fast fashion cycles.

About VKELLER
We preserve forms, not eras.
The past was not better. But it knew how to do certain things we have lost a way of draping silk, a cut that moved with the body, a visual language that carried weight. Our work is to recover that formal knowledge and bring it into the present, without the constraints that came with it.
Think of it as selective recovery. An archaeologist studies the past with fascination and rigour, but does not want to live in it. They take what is valuable: a form, a skill, a visual grammar, and make it live again as contemporary material. That is what we do. We are not nostalgic. We are precise.
AI is a tool. It is not good or bad. What matters is how it is used and whether it respects the values behind the work.
We use AI to assist with archive findings, restoration of old images, and reconstruction of the original scenery of old images to create pre-rendered images. AI helps us rebuild and restore, not replace us. The creative vision, every silhouette, every fabric choice, every story behind a piece is human. The designs are drawn, draped, and developed by hand. AI helps us move faster on the tasks that do not require a designer's eye, so we can spend more time on the ones that do
All pieces are designed in Paris, France. Production takes place with carefully selected ateliers that share our standards for craftsmanship and material quality. Every garment is made in limited quantities, we do not do mass production.
Yes. Each product page includes the full narrative behind the design the person, the film, the archive, the moment that inspired it. We also share deeper stories on our social channels.
